Pumped for this one hopefully they play like the first two periods yesterday and not the third. I have a feeling Marty is gonna have to be extra sharp today. One last thing i hope Martin gets blasted by someone.

Zajac is seeing a doctor this week for the achilles. I just hope to have him back for the playoffs.. actually a week before the playoffs so he can get in game shape. We're really deep with a healthy team, as are other Cup contending teams- Pittsburgh, Boston, NYR, Detroit, Vancouver, Chicago, St. Louis.. and a healthy Flyers team is pretty good too- tho they won't have Pronger back...
any combination of these players will yield wins.. if they play hard obviously. But the talent is there for a long run!

Parise-Henrique-Kovalchuk
Zubrus-Elias-Sykora
Ponikarovsky-Zajac-Clarkson
Boulton-Josefson-Bernier

that 3rd line is a REAL 3rd line, one we haven't really seen in a few years from
the Devils.

Parise-Zajac-Zubrus
Kovalchuk-Henrique-Clarkson
Ponikarovksy-Elias-Sykora
Boulton-Josefson-Bernier

...another great combo. idk how that 3rd line would work, but who knows.

Parise-Zajac-Zubrus
Kovalchuk-Elias-Sykora
Ponikarovksy-Henrique-Clarkson
Boulton-Josefson-Bernier

not a weak link in sight with any of these combos. I still like this 3rd setup the best.
so much depth!

Can even take Boulton out for Carter on that 4th line.

Even Zubrus can play center. Maybe Poni - Zoo - Bernier for 3rd Line,
Parise - Zajac - Elias 1st, Kovy - Henrique - Clarkson 3rd, Tedenby - Josefson - Sykora/Boulton.

I don't think Tedenby is getting called up any time soon. Those lines could work too.
Right now, Poni-Zubrus-Clarkson are doing work! He's been a great addition.. and we gave up nothing and are paying little for him! win win

Sykora won't be relegated to the fourth line. He has good offensive insticts. Tedenby should stay in the minors IMO. Bernier will be on the fourth line instead of Sykora.

I have two line combinations I'd do. One is if DeBoer breaks doesn't break up Parise and Kovalchuk

Parise-Henrique-Kovalchuk
Sykora-Elias-Zubrus
Ponikarovsky-Zajac-Clarkson
Carter-Josefson-Bernier

Solid line-up throughout. If you think you need a fighter, sub Josefson with Boulton, however, come playoff time players like Boulton/Janssen are useless.

If Parise and Kovalchuk are broken up:

Parise-Henrique-Zubrus
Kovalchuk-Elias-Sykora
Ponikarovsky-Zajac-Clarkson
Carter-Josefson-Bernier

we're also very fortunate Salvador has panned out, and is better than White. That was a big question mark, in addition to whether Larsson could play in the NHL. Salvador has shown to be a little faster and more aggressive than White. Larsson is a good 2nd pairing Dman as a rookie!

that was a big ? going into the season.

another ? was Sykora- and he's been servicable!

Clarkson has taken a LEAP forward!

the center conundrum has panned itself out, even with all the injuries.. Henrique CAN play, as we saw during camp, but he's excelled during his time in the NHL.

Parise-Kovy- while i still think they're better separated, they're together and its working out ok.

Marty and Hedberg haven't been amazing, but they've been good.

The ONLY ? that hasn't panned out is Tedenby. He has not developed in the NHL this year like we hoped..

Josefson is still neutral.. he's definitely a servicable 4th line center, a mediocre.. young 3rd line center- we'll see if his game matures as the season continues.

Another question was whether DeBoer could get this team playing BETTER hockey and playing to their potential- and whether the players would follow him or not. Well they've stuck with him and like him, and while they don't play 100% every night or every period, he has them on the right track.

so thats 7 out of 9 questions that have panned out in our favor. Thats nice and all. .. but I want a Cup!

Those are the most realistic. The radical changes you are showing just simply aren't going to happen, no offense. But this isn't Lemaire with his pinball machine making lines, DeBoer finds a combination and sticks with it.
